“Skerpskryf” is a creative Afrikaans writing competition for grade 7, 10, 11 and 12 learners from Drakenstein. Learners who study Afrikaans as home or additional language are all welcome to enter.
Entries for submissions for The Imbewu Trust’s 2015 SCrIBE Scriptwriting Competition are now open. Now in its fourth year, the SCrIBE Scriptwriting Competition is a platform for writers to have their work developed, with various prizes to be won, including a run at a Cape Town theatre and the opportunity to receive feedback at a week of staged readings with audience and industry professionals. There is also the chance to work with mentors to develop entrants’ writing styles and scripts.
The Centre for Creative Arts (UKZN) is proud to present the first performance of Mayihlome-Awand, the second daring work from the ensemble that produced Insurrections. Having wowed audiences at the 17th Poetry Africa in Durban, last year the Insurrections ensemble performs in Cape Town as part of the 18th Poetry Africa’s Tour outside of Durban.
