Tucked behind the Little Theatre on Orange Street, The Intimate Theatre was first built as part of an emergency plan after the drama department studios burned down in the 1950’s. The building was to be used as a student working space.
In the 1970’s former CAPAB Puppetry master Keith Anderson used the space as a puppet theatre. Director of The Intimate Theatre, Christopher Weare The Intimate Theatre was re-opened by Christopher Weare and Patrick Curtis, in 2002 as a space primarily for newly established professionals to experiment and produce work without crippling theatre rental preventing new work from being staged.
