Holly and The Woods were born out of the industrial sprawl and starlet breeding ground that is the East Rand in 2006 when Melissa answered an advert for a vocalist on a South African music website. Formed around the song writing core of Melissa on vocals and Craig on rhythm guitar, the body of the band is made up by Chad on drums, Gary on Bass and John on Lead guitar.

Holly and The Woods is a rock band in the anthemic, in your face, good times sense of the phrase. They have only been around for a little over a year, but already their live resume is impressive with appearances at all of Jozi’s top venues as well as TV and radio airtime. Further, the band has just released their first single for radio. Entitled Falling the single went Top 10 on Kovsie Fm and has been play-listed on stations such as Radio 2000, Tuks FM, MFM, UJ FM and UCT FM. The band is now working on a second single as well as an accompanying animated music video to be produced by Kablooey Studios in Durban.
