The Performers Travel Guide opened at The IntimateTheatre in Cape Town last night. Directed by Rob Van Vuuren, produced by Asa K Jogi and acted by Scott Sparrow. The Intimate Theatre which is a small and "intimate" venue was full to capacity.
Scott's performance is very intense yet extremely humourous, with the audience in hysterics for most of the performance. He has the ability to change characters in split seconds, each and every character has very destinctive characteristics and an accent of their own. The performance showcases his diverse talents in dance and he also plays some guitar as the somewhat demented Spanish guitarist (one of the seventeen characters he plays in this performance), Scott has the ability to say what words could not describe by simply cocking his head and giving the audience an expression. However many muscles there are in ones face, he used them all. He revieved a standing ovation for his performance. There was a buzz of amazement among the audience after the performance. The show runs until the 10th May and is definately worth seeing, as for me I hope to see it again.Scott as the Spanish Guitarist Scott playing Ivan - sailing the seas director - Rob Van Vuuren welcomes the audience Juju Productions will be hosting a number of top class performances at The Intimate Theatre until the 22nd of June which I have no doubt will be well worth seeing so keep an eye out for these productions. The Intimate Theatre is definitely a good place to see performances like this in that as the name says, it's intimate, you can feel the actors breath and almost taste their sweat. All of the shows being put on here over the next six weeks will be going to the Grahamstown Festival.
Many thanks to Rob and Scott for allowing me to take photographs of the performance. Click here to read the press release of the Performer's Travel Guide Add as favourites (56) | Quote this article on your site
