Red Cap Radio

Red Cap Radio is Mr Price’s in store radio station, for Everyday Clothing Stores across the whole of South Africa. Currently we reach about 1.7 million in a 7 day cycle. This increases over peak periods such as holidays ect. As our demographics have shown, we reach a really diverse country. We broadcast from 8am – 7pm Monday to Thursday, 8am – 9pm on Friday and Saturday and from 9am – 7pm on a Sunday. Red Cap Radio can be picked up every day for 24 hours on a normal DSTv decoder, for both radio stations.

Red Cap Radio is currently based in the Mr Price Head Office in Durban but we travel around the country doing various broadcasts. Because we have 2 completely different format radio stations, we play almost every genre of music, we play from Jack Johnson and Farryl Purkiss to Incubus, Mary J Blige to Ludacris. We are VERY passionate about promoting South African bands and events taking place - so we are always on the look out for SA tracks, we will play it even if you aren't signed to a label! My name is Naledi Mailula and I am currently doing my Journalism internship at e-tv.
As much as I enjoy the atmosphere of this fast paced environment, I have to be admit that my passion lies in radio.
I have tried to get onto several radio stations but most of them have not responded or some used last year?s recession as a reason for being unable to take in any more employees.

Working at e-tv, I am currently enjoying a very flexi work schedule.
I work 16 days a month and I am free for about 15 days.
For that very reason, I am trying my best to get into a radio station that I work at when I am off from my permanent job.

I would be honoured to work for your retail station for any fee or even no fee at all.
All I am asking for is a chance to be in the radio industry again.
I do know the basics of radio as I was part of a campus show while I studied at the Tshwane University of Technology.

I hope that you will consider my proposal and respond.

Hi I'm Steven, Journalism student currently. I am interested in working for red cap radio. I believe red cap radio is the ideal platform for my radio career. I have previous radio experience in Community as well as Community radios.
