Let me just give you the summed up version... I was born in the small town of Cookeville, Tennessee on November 7th 1980. I was in a rock band for a couple of years in high school. In 1999 I came to Cape Town, South Africa with an organization called Youth With a Mission. While I was in SA I met the kids living on the streets of downtown Cape Town and really connected with them. I moved back in 2000 and began fulltime work with them. I have been here since. I recently moved my work from the streets to a community project to try and get to the "root of the problem", but still have regular contact with the kids downtown. My work with the kids is really just to help individuals, with their individual needs, but I also saw the need to impact the situation on a larger level. I am using hip hop to do that.
