The recently published AR (Audience Rating) figures for the South African production Dans! Dans! Dans! confirm that locally produced television is being recognized for its excellence.
With over 6000 unique website visitors, and 576 801 valid votes registered (monitored and audited by financial services firm, Alexander Forbes), the popularity of this original format production is evident, and impressive, taking into account that it is in its first season, and competed with the Super 14 for viewership.

Dans! Dans! Dans! is an exciting South African reality television competition aimed at finding the country's best dancer and giving them the chance to showcase their skills. It premiered on DStv's kykNET channel and has been extremely successful in enticing South African viewers to support local productions.

With the growing number of international-format reality shows flooding our screens, the likes of Pop Idols, The Apprentice and Survivor the local production company responsible for Dans! Dans! Dans!, GrayWhite Productions were thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase the talent that the South African television industry has to offer.

Billy White and Matthew Gray are no stranger to success having produced other well known formats such as The Apprentice, 30” to fame, and Zing, to name but a few. As international format holders for The Bachelor and the quirky game show Cash Cab, Matthew and Billy go on to say that, “the rest of the world is starting to sit up and take notice of the South African television industry, we will soon be seeing our own productions being broadcast on the world stage.”

"Great things are happening in the South African TV industry. Broadcasters need to have more faith in local creatives and realise that given the opportunity, SA could easily come up with a format that can compete internationally," conclude Matthew & Billy.
